In the 80s, my friends introduced me to the very unique soundscape of the KLINIK, a band I much adore today, one of their gigs at Valvet in Gothenburg I still remember vividly.
On the EBM day, we got to experience the energy bomb DIVE. It is not to believe that Dirk is today 66 years young. He does not say no to a gig.
The depth, the beat, and the sounds grind down any mind resistance, this was the ultimate beats of the evening, the week, and a real good while for me. Please give me more, because DIVE is addictive live. Some say that his singing is not the Jussi Björling type of voice, but neither is Skinny Puppy. But it is distinct, recognizable, and fits like a hand-in-glove with what Dirk creates.
Songs like “Leave Me Be” or “Let Me In” take me to another planet. I don’t need to wait for Elon Musk’s SpaceX to take us to some distant places in space. And the final song, a fantastic version of “Moving Hands” makes us all in the front rows go wild…
